Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for cutting
- Applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), environmental, legislative and organisational requirements relevant to cutting panels are identified and followed
- Work order is reviewed and checked with appropriatepersonnel
- Type and quantity of material to be cut is acquired from the storage location
- Equipment is selected appropriate to work requirements and checked for operational effectiveness in line with manufacturer's recommendations
- Material cutting patternsand saw set-up sequences are planned in line with site procedures
- Communication with others is established and maintained in line with OHS requirements
- Cut material to size or angle
- Material is marked and stops set in preparation for cutting
- Cutting sequence and patterns are followed to produce the required quantity
- Cuts are checked for length or angle within a set tolerance
- Material with defects, incorrect cuts and off-cuts are disposed of in line with site procedures and environmental requirements
- Processing and equipment faults are reported to the appropriate personnel
- Material is safely stacked in a designated location in line with work order requirements
- Conduct operator maintenance
- Equipment lock-out procedures are followed in line with OHS legislation and site procedures
- Saw blades are checked for blunt or damaged condition in line with site procedures
- Saw blades are removed and replaced in line with manufacturer's recommendations
- Saw area is kept clear of dust, off-cuts and debris in line with OHS requirements
